Fair Weather brings Festive Success

A big THANK YOU to everyone involved in the Christmas Fair on Saturday (1st Dec) in Burnside Square, where OK linked up with the Argyll Country Market and chased away the rain clouds for a brief spell of fine weather and festive cheer. OK was delighted with the turn-out and panel members were pleased to talk to lots of local people about our work in support of local business. From Santa’s activity centre to hot refreshments, local produce and music from the Primary School Choirs and Young Pipers... we all had fun and raised over £400 towards Enterprise Facilitation funds. Check out the photo gallery... enjoy!

September Ball 2008 – date announced

Please make sure the first date you add to your new 2008 diaries is the OK September Ball. The date of next year’s event has been announced as Saturday 27th September 2008 and information and tickets will be available nearer the time. We hope that after the success of our inaugural event (where Ernesto Sirolli and Jim Mather were our guests of honour) that we can double the number of tickets available. We believe that 10 corporate tables have already been provisionally booked; so if you’d like to attend or be informed when tickets are available, fill in an enquiry form with your details and we’ll be sure to keep you posted.

OK AGM

Opportunity Kintyre will hold its AGM at 6pm on Monday 17th December in the Aqualibrium Bistro. If you’re interested in becoming a Panel Member or would like to get involved in our work, please click here for more information.

OK Progress

Opportunity Kintyre currently has 45 clients registered and working with our Enterprise Facilitator. Just over half of these are people with new business ideas; about 20 are established business people looking to develop or expand their existing enterprise. 5 clients are social enterprises or community groups.

This week one of our clients, looking for premises to start a family business in Campbeltown, called to say:

"Thank you for all of your time and support, we feel we have got much further in our search working with you than we ever did on our own".

Our Panel has helped to investigate several options for this client already and the search continues...

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you wish to discuss your idea – our service is free and confidential.
