Opportunity Kintyre - Enterprise Facilitation®

What is Enterprise Facilitation® ?

Enterprise Facilitation® is a method of providing free, confidential business mentoring support to individuals with an idea, who want to take forward their idea and realise their dreams.

Enterprise Facilitation® is a form of business counselling available to individuals or groups of individuals who make up a management team within an organisation.

Opportunity Kintyre's Enterprise Facilitator will meet you anywhere in Kintyre, at your request, and listen to your ideas. The initial meeting will be an opportunity to get to know you and gain an understanding of what you want to achieve, allowing you to consider what you need to do to take your idea forward.

Perhaps the phrase 'No man is an island' (John Dunne) is familiar to you. Sirolli (and others) agree that 'the sole trader dies alone'. Indeed, Sirolli's experience has shown that no single individual is capable or inclined towards successfully managing a business on their own. There are always areas that suit some and not others.

Through Enterprise Facilitation® you have the opportunity to gain assistance, in areas of management that you cannot do or dislike doing, via the Community Panel. The value of the resources and networks that the Panel provides is impossible to calculate – suffice to say that it is significant and at your disposal as a client of OK.

If you have an idea, something you love doing, or have an existing business and would like to take it forward, doing what you enjoy most, contact your Enterprise Facilitator via telephone or email, or complete the enquiry form on our Contact Us page.

About OK's Enterprise Facilitator

Opportunity Kintyre's Enterprise Facilitator, Lynn Hammal, joined our team in February 2007. She is from the north east of England and, together with the experiences of running her own business, has been particularly inspired by the work of Ernesto Sirolli.

Lynn says: "Enterprise Facilitation® is all about people, communities and good communication. It is about working with individuals, building effective teams from within local networks and giving people the freedom to achieve their full potential".

As Facilitator, she will never make a judgment or dismiss your ideas, nor will she tell you what to do or give you her opinion. She will, however, guide you to reflect upon your idea in detail, give you time to consider what you are most skilled and happy to do, and help you assess where you feel you need further support.

To speak to Lynn or arrange an appointment, see Contact Us.

About our Core Management Team

Opportunity Kintyre Chairperson, Mary Turner was one of a group of local people who recognised the need for community based enterprise facilitation in Kintyre and was one of those who went to Glasgow in September 2005 and heard Ernesto Sirolli describe the experiences he had had with enterprise facilitation which had led to the development of the Sirolli method. The group from Kintyre returned feeling inspired and determined to bid for one of three pilot Sirolli Projects being offered by the Scottish Executive.

She has had a varied career, starting off as a research chemist, then becoming a professional pilot and now, in partnership with her husband Joe, manages a farming and holiday cottages business near Campbeltown. She still retains an interest in flying and has a small flying school at Campbeltown Airport. She has three daughters and a grand daughter and her other interests are gardening and music.

She is also interested in the environment and sees the Sirolli project as being complementary to her vision for a clean and vibrant living and working environment in Kintyre.
